ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science was established in the year 2021 with an intake of 60 students. It is a popular outgrowth of computer science that is utilized to solve today's technologically complicated problems.

The department offers UG programme leading to B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science with the ability to sensitize pupils to execute intelligent data analysis and impart knowledge of advanced technologies.

The Department has cutting-edge laboratory infrastructure, which is required to integrate the theoretical and practical facets of engineering.

The department's faculty members are well-trained and experienced in the fields of artificial intelligence and data science.

FACULTY

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is enriched with a dedicated and qualified faculty team of 1 Professor and 7 Assistant Professors specialized in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, Network Security, and Mobile Computing. The faculty members are active researchers with Ph.D. qualifications and are continuously enhancing their skills through FDPs, workshops, and industry certifications.

RESEARCH

The Department promotes research among the faculty and has a strong research focus in areas including Image Processing, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Network Security, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science. The department's research centre has produced Ph.D. scholars and continues to support part-time and full-time research scholars.

CURRICULUM & PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

The B.Tech. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science programme follows the Anna University R2021 curriculum with a total of 163 credits across 8 semesters. The curriculum covers core AI/ML subjects including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Science and Analytics, Big Data Analytics, Computer Networks, Operating Systems, and Embedded Systems & IoT. Students can choose from 6 professional elective verticals including Knowledge Engineering, Full Stack Development, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Creative Media, and Emerging Technologies.
